Found time to work on the 1/48 Unicorn Gundam Head base which I mentioned in my HG 1/44 Gundam Unicorn post.
The parts that make up the base comes cast in white and clear pink. You can see how the base looks unpainted in Leon's review of this set.
I prefer adding in colour that makes it more accurate, and that means more hassle, especially when parts are cast in a single colour, namely, the base which is supposed to be grey at the collar area, and the rest is white.
To achieve this, masking off the white parts is necessary. It takes awhile to do so as there are many odd angles.
After masking and spraying, the desired effect is achieved. Admittedly, it is not the most perfect result, but it looks less dull then having a single colour.
I'm left with the Destroy mode Unicorn Head base, and here's a quick pix of the Unicorn mode one which has been matt coated.
