1:6 Hot Toys T-800 Endoskeleton was the figure that kicked off my interest in Hot Toys figures. Since scoring it in 2007, I've been waiting for the companion piece, T-800 Arnold to take it's place alongside what is widely regarded as an engineering marvel. Finally T-800 Arnie has arrived.
And it is fitting to start off this review with Arnie stark naked, just as how he made his entrance in T2. I was pleasantly surprised at the weight of this figure when I removed it from the box. As this is a newly developed muscular body specifically for Arnie, I was keen to check out the overall figure's sculpt. Do note for these series of pix, I replaced the extra long feet pegs with a normal Hot Toys True Type's feet pegs and feet, as this figure doesn't come with feet.
Hot Toys have been producing realistic skin textures in their recent figures, (I can recall they started doing so with Wolverine) and they've done it here again, mainly on the head and upper body.
Here's some full on frontal nudity for closer examination of this figure. Granted, the muscular chest area and the elbow joints reduce the articulation range of this figure when compared to normal Hot Toys True Types, but it's sufficient cos Arnie has no need to achieve extreme poses.
I love how Hot Toys pulled off the head sculpt, doubters be damned. The sculpt, features and skin textures are top notch.
Props to Hot Toys for coming so far with their muscular bodies. This is an earlier Hot Toys muscular body that I have, from the Hot Toys Private Military Contractor '07 figure, and because the bulk of the body is cast in rubber, it's articulation is severely limited.
Here's T-800 Arnie with Hot Toys Leonidas, another exemplary figure which I unfortunately haven't had time to take pix of at the time of posting.
Finally, together with the 2010 True Type body.
After loads of shots of naked Arnold Schwarzenegger, it's time to get him kitted up. First come on the well-worn weather pants with working zips at the leg cuffs.
When unzipped, it'll make T-800 blend in at disco night.
The next item isn't an article of clothing...
But rather his endoskeleton arm revealed. Same articulated fingers as the Hot Toys T-800 Endoskeleton, but no forearm articulation here.
On comes his grey tee...
...his awesomely tailored biker's jacket. I wouldn't be surprised if Saturday Toys/Playhouse knocked this one out, as they've been contracted by Hot Toys for clothes before and they've previously produced a very nice 1:6 Biker set.
And finally, his shades.
And the cold heart breaker fit to burn is all dressed up to rip your heart in two.
His other accessories include the box of roses to re-enact the mall scene.
The box conceals his shotgun.
He also comes with a pistol which is needless IMHO, cos he's a terminator.
And as we've come to expect all weapons come with details and moving parts we've come to expect from Hot Toys.
This is everything this figure comes with.
And this is T-800 Arnie brandishing weapons that came with
1:6 Hot Toys T-800 Endoskeleton.
It isn't a Harley, but it'll suffice as a prop for purpose of these photos.
And finally the money shot, and I don't use that term alot. After three years of waiting, Hot Toys T-800 Endosketon finally meets his better half.
Here's Hot Toys Terminator Judgement Day T-800 signing off with a group pix with Hot Toys Terminator Salvation figures (which I need to find time some day to take pix of).
