1:6 Hot Toys 2010 True Type Body

I promised more photos of the new 1:6 Hot Toys 2010 True Type body in this earlier post, and here they are.

The first thing impression this figure gave me was that it was built of much studier plastic and it's finish is matte, compared to the gloss used on the previous Hot Toys True Types. Due to the stronger material used, it feels heavier than the current normal (i.e., not slim/narrow shouldered) True Types. Thankfully, the body balances just as well as the older editions.

The head sculpt is Michael Scofield's and the detail and paint job is excellent, as we've come to expect from Hot Toys.

The head would be a perfect replacement for this previous kitbash...

...but I think I'll leave the head on the box in the original packaging, for completeness' sake.

The neck is a new sculpt and is similar to the Hot Toys Slim Body's neck.

The collar joint of this body is deeper, which means the previous normal True Type necks will not fit as tightly as their bases are flat and not concave like the new necks.

However, the previous normal True Type neck post has no problems attaching to the new True Type's head.

A comparison shot with the Hot Toys True Type Slim body and Normal (Caucasian) body.

Besides the obvious differences besides the chest and abdominal sculpt of the 2010 version with the previous normal version, I noticed the following differences.

Enhanced sculpt and detail on the deltoids, biceps, triceps and forearms.

It's groin area now has a rubber layer over, while it was previously plastic.

And the most obvious difference is the addition of muscular thighs...

...which are removable and can be attached to the normal True Types...

...which sure beats the need to wear rubber muscular 'pants' like in the case of the Hot Toys Muscular Body.

I wonder will there be calf attachements available later on?

I will not speak about it's articulation, as it's pretty much the same as the current true types and there's quite a lot of photos here documenting it.

Does it stand head and shoulders above the rest?

Soldier Story S2 Body, Barrack Sergeant, Hot Toys 2010 True Type, Saturday Toys Body and Enterbay BL 2.5 body.

Similar to it's predecessor, in time it will be my default choice of 1:6 nudes for kitbashing.

I am looking forward to stock up on the regular versions in 2010, so do announce them soon, Hot Toys. :)

I'm glad to see that the muscular thighs are removable. I like the regular legs better, but the hand detail is nice.

    Thanks for sharing this information.

Hot Toys is making a wonderful job. This new truetype is amazing and your blog is good source of information. Before I buy a Hot Toys I always take a look at your blog to check the details. Congratulation!

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is this figure the same as the labeled "Advanced" version?
