1:6 Hot Toys Hellboy

I hesitated on ordering this item as it's torso is made of rubber to simulate Hellboy's musculature, which means it may disintergrate over time...

But I went ahead anyway as I've always liked Hellboy's premise of a demon made good.

The preview pix made his face look rather long and I'm glad it isn't the case in the final product.









Hot Toys did a top notch take on his costume and accessories.















He comes with his weapons Big Baby & Samaritan as well as an extra pair of hands. The open palmed Right Hand of Doom has bendable fingers.





The bullets in Samaritan's barrel are removable...



...as it is with Big Baby.







The hammer on Big Baby is movable.











His torso sculpt differs from the other rubber body figure I own, which originates from an earlier PMC figure. The material feels the same and I hope it holds up as well as the PMC figure. Fingers crossed.



Of course, this also means that the upper body's articulation is restricted. Hot Toys has included an instruction sheet with graphics depicting the recommended range of movement to avoid damaging the body. Thankfully, the legs contain the usual True Type articulation, which means funky leg poses are possible.













Highly recommended for big fans of Hellboy, as you'll have to live with the limited articulation and possible eventual disintegration of the rubber parts on this figure. Will look damn cool on the shelf though.

   wow, i am quite surprised at the cool accessories.
   
   i would buy if they did a comic version. i still prefer the comic version by Mignola tho.

   Great pics Shaun. First time Hot Toys announced they were doing this one I immediately preordered mine. Haven't had the time to snap pics yet but I do agree it does look good on the shelf, hehehe!

   @Joshua: You're welcome. Our climate really isn't suitable for such figures and there's not much we can do about it, besides keeping it in a controlled temperature environment. Even the pleather pants on this will eventually go over time.
   
   @TED: Yes, you should skip this if you're primarily a Mignola fan. NPNT STFU lah.

   I ordered Hellboy right away myself. He's blood red from head to toe, his tail's posable, and his arm of doom just screams "awesome 12" figure". Not to mention HT does an amazing job with his clothes (not shiny pleather unlike Sideshow's) and accessories (no plastic belts unlike Medicom). Yep, it's easy to tell where my loyalties lie right now.

   I have the Sideshow Cigar Smoking HB, but this one tops that. Isn't he a bit thin compared to the movie HB? Still awesome though. Love the coat.

   @mich: never realised you're a HB fan. TED's busy dating these days, only meets me during lunchtime in the work week.
   
   @kngfu: Is that the exclusive one with the replaceable horns? Or is that version the exclusive one? Sideshow's version was good for it's time. Still on the fence whether a pleather coat like the first version would work better.

   I don't have the one with the replaceable horns. His extras were cool, I just wasn't crazy about the ripped up coat. My HB has a pleather coat=sucks.
