Kitbash Bruce Wayne (Business Suit)

Posted: Thursday, February 07, 2008 by Shaun in Labels: , , , , ,

EDIT 10/11/08: I've kitbashed Bruce Wayne with the extra heads that came with the Hot Toys TDK figures in this post.

Given the impending arrival of the reissue Takara Batman Begins figure, this post may come in handy for fellow collectors who want to kitbash a Bruce Wayne figure, using the extra head that comes with Takara Batman Begins.

James showed us his Kitbash Bruce Wayne in Tactical Harness earlier on, I'll be showing him in a boring business suit.

Head & Neck
The thing you'd need to note is the neck post you'll need for Bruce's head.

I'd recommend looking for a neck post similar to this. I got mine from the Barrack Sergeant Bravo Body set.

When plugged straight into Bruce's head, the neck post isn't a secure fit and the head tends to wobble around abit. To remedy this, I suggest using poster putty/Blu Tack and line it around the tip of the neck post.

If you intend to pose Bruce next to Clark and reflect their height difference in real life, i.e.,

... do go for a shorter body like Barrack Sergeant's Bravo Body. It'll turn out to be something like this.

I'm currently using a Hot Toys True Type Bronze body on this figure, note the difference in skin tone between the hands and the face. In this case, his height matches Takara Batman Begins better...

...and is of a closer height to Clark.

I'm using Toysoldier's Menswear business suit for Bruce. Switched the tie with another figure. You may want to trawl online stores for other sixth scale suit designs.

I hope this post was useful to fellow collectors thinking of a Bruce Wayne kitbash. Do drop a comment if you've anything to clarify.

since i'm less than a year when i started collecting 1:6th figures, i totally missed the takara batman (i have to settle with the hot Toys batman) so imagine how delighted i am when i learned that there would be a reissue. just want to ask if the extra bruce wayne head would fit with the hot toys clark kent. I'm thinking of using the clark kent body (plus neck post) and the gray suit he comes with for the extra bruce head. thanks.

Hi, I can understand your delight. It's the figure that started me actively collecting 6th scale figs. Using the Hot Toys Clark Kent neck post will not work as the joint is too big and will not fit Takara Batman's head.

Here's a pix which shows the neck joint. Compare this with the cavity of the BW head at this pix.

If you're intending to use the Hot Toys Clark Kent body and suit, (which I think is a good idea BTW) all you need is to look for a suitable neck post. Hope it helps clarify?

ok, thanks for the info. One more thing, do you think that with the way Hot Toys was able to do justice with the Appleseed figure (in terms of articulation), the Hot Toys future Dark Knight figure could finally beat Takara's future Dark Knight figure. Cannibal Jack Sparrow came with two heads, so is the 2-in-1 Superman Returns, so a Hot Toys Dark Knight could come with an extra Bruce head. Plus, I think the Hot Toys Batman Begins is more movie accurate than the Takara Batman Begins. I can't wait to get my hands on the Takara Batman.

Anything I'd say would be pure speculation actually, so I'd rather wait for the product pix to come out. The potential is there. And by potential, I mean Yulli.

So, does the Takara Batman come with an extra set of dress shoes or is that something we'll have to look for in addition to the business clothes?

  1. Shaun says:

Hi Seby, no, he doesn't come with an extra set of dress shoes at all. However, you'll save yourself the hunt if you pick up the Toy Soldier Menswear set, comes with suit and shoes.

I can't seem to find this toy menswear set on ebay. Is it sold anywhere else where someone from the U.S can buy it? Also, does anyone know when exactly the release date is for the Takara Batman? I pre-ordered mine and my seller hasn't done a good job keeping me up to date on the details. Thanks.

  1. Shaun says:

Hey Seby, I've no idea about where to get the suits in the US, but I've posted a query here. Will let you know if anyone replies. The date we got for Takara Bats here is in March, no exact day.
