Updated as of 31 March 08: Richard's still on the hunt, and hence his updated resume.

Richard's looking for a job as Product Development/Toy Development Engineer and dropped me this note at the start of the year.

Least I could do was plug his post, cos he plugged my pix at mwctoys.com.

Mechanical Engineer/Toy Developer/Project Engineer/Packaging Engineer/Design Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer

To Whom It May Concern:

I'd like to set up an interview at your next convenience to discuss my qualifications for joining your toy company’s team, utilizing my many talents and experiences as a Mechanical Engineer.

Why should I be hired now to join the your team? Because I effectively fit the needs of the company, bringing to it not only a strong technical background in design and manufacturing, but also an energetic, innovative drive and passion for the business. Throughout my career, I’ve actively participated in numerous teams to produce some of the most outstanding products in their respective fields, moving concepts from ideation to successful transfer to manufacturing sites around the country. In the consumer product industry, for instance, I was a key player on the company’s flagship product development team. Serving as liaison between my teams and vendor locations nationwide, I worked closely with development, tooling, and manufacturing to ensure success throughout the project life cycle. During tool fabrication and plant start-ups, I supported tool build and debug operations. In addition, I helped design a battery of testing procedures and instruments as part of our total quality assurance operations. I trained both vendor and in-house personnel how to effectively test our product. I also developed a set of written training protocols. As a result, I greatly improved quality assurance operations, significantly boosted overall plant productivity nationwide, and effectively maintained cost targets for the company’s #1 product.

I have spent the last decade developing and honing my skills in design, manufacturing, product development, packaging development, research, and project management. If you’re looking for an intelligent individual who successfully juggles multiple projects, makes quick decisions (i.e., thinks on his feet), has excellent problem-solving skills, plays for the team, possesses strong interpersonal skills, speaks Chinese, and has an absolute passion for developing toys, then look no further…because you’ve found him.

Please contact me at richardplau@yahoo.com, so we can take the next steps towards having me join your outstanding team!
