EDITED on 04/03/09: More information on sports wear/factory outlet shops in Hong Kong updated here.

I'm pleased that our factory outlet hunt in Hong Kong went quite well. Wife and I were happy cos we managed to snag some decent deals.

We were befuddled by this outlet's name

Directions: Just take the MTR to Tung Chung. The mall is connected to the MTR. Most of the shops open from 11am onwards.

There's an outlet in Mongkok as well, but this one just dwarfs it. Discounts galore with varying promotions abound here. Wife had a good time picking out stuff for her friends and herself. Tees start as low as S$12.

We didn't get anything here, as clothes available tend to be of larger sizes.

Loads of sneakers, but the dearth of Air Force Ones was depressing. Wanted to snag a Barcelona shirt, but the only football shirts available were the Juventus home and training shirts, which cost about S$40.

We discovered that they put out stuff randomly, cos when we went back after lunch, we managed to snag the following items.

The best thing about the adidas factory outlets when we visited is that when we bought three items, we got a 30% discount on top of our bill.

Was looking for some tees and shorts here, and hoping for a Liverpool jacket, but only came across Chelsea, Bayern, AC Milan and Japan jackets. Wife picked up a bag to make up the three items, while I got these.

We continued our factory outlet tour at:

Yip Fatt Factory Building

The Nike outlet's selection was terrible and they're moving out anyway to some undisclosed location. The Adidas outlet was a gem and we snagged the following:

Adidas Factory Outlet
11H Phase 2, Yip Fatt Factory Bldg
73 - 75 Hoi Yuen Road
Kwun Tong, Kowloon.
Tel: 2793 2791

Take the MTR to Kwun Tong.

EDITED on 04/03/09: The adidas Outlet at Yip Fatt has since moved out. You may want to check out the adidas outlet at Hung Hom.

The Nike outlet has moved to Camelpaint Building which is in the vicinity. Here's the location of the Nike outlet

Hong Kong Industrial Centre

Quite a large selection of clothes(brands unknown) but as usual, we went to...

Adidas Factory Outlet
B6, 7/F, Block B
Hong Kong Industrial Centre
489-491 Castle Peak Road, Kowloon
Tel: 2959 0357

Take the MTR to Lai Chi Kok.

Great selection of football shirts! Had Liverpool away and European shirt, all Chelsea kits, AC Milan, Ajax and Bayern shirts and training kits.

I'd say Citygate's a good place to visit if you're short of time and looking for a place which houses numerous factory outlets of better known brands.

EDITED on 04/03/09: For adidas, reebok, Timberland and Puma, I would recommend visiting Tanka Sports Outlet at Hung Hom.

Tanka Sports Outlet at Hung Hom.

hi! i'm gg to hk this june so will the nike & adidas outlet at yip fat still be there?

  1. Shaun says:

hi thanks for your comment. I'm not sure abt the nike outlet at yip fat as they did have a 'removal sale' sign at their store. Better bet for adidas, but do call them before dropping by with the numbers I noted down in my post. Do swing by citygate if you've time, better selection of nike stuff.

Did u manage to visit the "sports street"? which is cheaper? Citgate or sportstreet?

  1. Shaun says:

hi jneo, thanks for commenting. If you're referring to Fa Yuen Street, the selection there is very wide, but city gate's prices are better.

  1. Hey nice blogs and pics. The best i have seen so far.

Btw is the adidas variety the same in Citigate and at Yip Fatt? Which is cheaper?

  1. Shaun says:

hi Kurei, thanks for the compliment. No the selection differs. Citygate has more adidas originals for sale, while yit fatt has more of the atheletic line for sale. Discounts apply across all the factory warehouse outlets, I think they're run by the same people. For wider selection, do drop by Citigate. Hope it helps.
