DC Direct 13 Inch Superman (Classic)

Quick thoughts
1) Think the chest logo is too low, negates the effort of reducing the size of the logo
2) hate his chubby jowls
3) cape length is great
4) wish the belt buckle was gold as the original
5) the costume's material seems stronger than the original's wish they'd used similiar material as Superman Returns.

Thanks to Em and dear wife for getting this for me!

Buy it!

As always, thanks for sharing Shaun! I mentioned over at the SS Freaks that I thought the "S" is positioned too low - looks like we're in agreement on that one. I don't mind the belt buckle being yellow since that's how it looked when I was growing up. I'll have to wait until I have mine to judge those "chubby jowls" :) Overall, I think that he will make a fine replacement for the Supes V1 in my display. That first version will probably be assigned to Clark Kent duty now. Well now we'll have a breather until the end of May when the Martian Manhunter shows up. I welcome the short wallet rest.

Shaun, I received my Superman Classic today. The "S" does sit too low, exactly like yours. I've seen a pic showing the "S" in the proper position so I was really hoping that I would receive a correct one. Regardless, I still love the figure. The headsculpt is so much better than the first Superman released in the 13" line. Looking forward to the 2-month break.

  1. glad it arrived safe and sound, Jase. I haven't seen in hand pix of those with correct insignia placement yet, but props to those who manage to secure one. hey get your display up already! :)

There's a pic on the DC Direct board showing 2 Superman figures, and one has the correct placement. BTW, I sent you a PM at TNI that needs your attention when you get a spare minute! It's going to be awhile before I have any displays up. I need to get into a new house and I'm not so sure that I'm going to stay in Colorado. I miss Phoenix, AZ.
